The Plant

There are so many awesome things in Super Metroid, but the game's fan art has just about everything covered by this point. So instead...here's the plant. Super Metroid players know well the significance of this plant. What, you want the story, too?

Okay. Deep in Maridia, far above this plant, there's a missile pickup stuck in the ceiling. You can see it plain as day, and the scan visor will tell you the blocks beneath it can be broken. But you need to use Samus' shinespark (really super-fast dash attack) to break them. The only runway long enough to charge it is through that pink door, so you have to go in there, get a running start, save your charge, and jump straight up into the missile from the ground floor.

This plant marks the exact location you need to jump from. If you don't get it just right, you'll miss your mark and hit a ledge on the way up. This plant is your guide to getting one of the most stubborn pickups in the entire game. So this picture is a tribute to this unsung hero. We'd be lost without you, little plant, and though there are many like you, we have only you to thank.
